Medical Device Job Title: Director of Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
Location: Stamford, CT
Salary: $150000 - $165000
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Direct and lead a team who will focus on collection, synthesis,
and analysis of market data, research (primary and secondary),
competitive data, and internal data to provide insightful
recommendations that will impact the direction of the business.
As a strategic member of the marketing leadership team,
work with cross functional business partners in leading
the business, helping the company find better ways to answer
business questions. Elevate the visibility of research in
the decision-making process and communicate research top-line
results. Provide business analysis and actionable intelligence
to internal stakeholders by interpreting research results,
deriving implications, performing market analyses, and gathering
strategic intelligence to provide proactive insight into
the healthcare market, trends, customer needs and buying
behaviors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management duties and responsibilities include: a) responsible
for performance management and development of direct reports
including written performance assessments; b) administers
company policies and procedures in the Market Research department;
c) responsible for initial training of new employees and
ongoing training of subordinates; and e) promotes Total
Quality Management, Operational Excellence, creating an
environment that fosters teamwork.
Develop and execute annual research plan to support key
strategic initiatives, ensuring comprehensive measurement
of the marketplace, customer dynamics and competition.
Design appropriate market research projects that address
key business issues.
Present research results, translating statistical data into
recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Interact directly with senior management, marketing management,
R&D and others to provide business intelligence based
on research.
Direct and implement projects internally where possible
and manage outside vendors to obtain necessary information.
Educate stakeholders on appropriate use and interpretation
of research findings.
Establish and monitor corporate performance metrics based
on bi-annual Customer Loyalty Survey. Direct and develop
research projects which provide credible, actionable information
for the company.
Turn data into a story which explains research objectives
and results to stakeholders.
Develop processes to efficiently produce compelling and
concise research reports.
Define and implement best practices.
Investigate and prioritize customer requirements for product
development.
Perform advanced statistical analyses on primary research
data.
Create systems for effective collection and use of competitive
intelligence.
REQUIREMENTS
- BA/BS degree in business or quantitative/Scientific discipline
- MBA preferred
Experience:
- At least 4 years market research experience, or MBA +
2 years market research experience
- At least 3 years experience in healthcare industry
- Strong personnel management skills

Medical Device Job Title: Applications Engineer
Location: New Haven, CT
Salary: $60000 - $70000
Our client is a dynamic, growing division of a $10 Billion
MEDICAL Products company, with a unique need for an Applications
Engineer, someone who is very proficient in CAD, willing
to work with and train others in the product design department
in this area of expertise.
The objective of the Applications Engineer position is
to aid the CAD user community through knowledge of CAD tools
and processes and how to apply them. This includes staying
current with existing technology as well as identifying
new technology and fitting it to existing processes.
The Applications Engineer is a highly motivated self-starter
with excellent communication, presentation, and troubleshooting
skills. He/she has engineering through manufacturing process
background. He/she has a responsibility to the CAD applications
environment and user support. In this position, application
support required by the department or group must be strong
but analytical skills must also be strong. He/she will work
on his/her own and with more senior members of the staff
on analyzing issues, system design, and business requirements.
He/she is expected to be able to interface intelligently
and effectively with members of the user community in the
business areas that he/she supports. Business and systems
analytical skills must be developed at this level.
Requirements Education: Bachelors Degree, prefer additional
courses for learning specific technology skills,
Experience:
2 to 5 years Mechanical Engineering experience with MCAD
tools
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Specific computer technology skills as required for specific
job functions, such as any of the following:
- Pro/ENGINEER and associated extensions
- Pro/INTRALINK
- Linear and non-linear Analysis Tools
- Tolerance Analysis
- Applications administrations
- Microsoft OS knowledge
